casual dating sucks

Do you date casually?

Dating is hard. Everyone seems to be emotionally unavailable, yet yearning for love.

I have never used a dating app, but most of my friends have and I feel like it makes it so easy to date without any intention of it going any further than a couple dates.

You get your heart broken a couple times and decide you don’t want to date anymore, yet seek validation from strangers or people you barely know to fill a void, going on dates to hookup with strangers, making “dating” more and more meaningless as time goes on.

In a world of instant gratification accessible through our phones at all times, it’s not surprising that people want instant gratification in their love lives as well. Everyone is in such a rush to hook up with each other. I find that it is almost expected to hook-up after a date in today’s culture. Which is disgusting and discouraging, and in the long run unsatisfying.

I am a hopeless romantic at heart, but I become more cynical with every relationship. As someone who has always worn my heart on my sleeve, it becomes harder to be open and honest with people about my feelings when nobody else seems to be in tune with theirs.

Why flirt with someone; and take them out; and introduce them to all your friends; and make future plans, if you actually had no intentions on seriously dating them?? Then the other person catches feelings and you act surprised and ghost them??

That is what is wrong with dating in this generation and I am so over it!
